Even though it is summer, the site team is far from slowing down supervision of the construction of our ships in China. As we reported recently, the first of the newbuildings has been launched. In the meantime, the site team has also been busy supporting the shipyard building our second ship in the drydock and it is coming along very nicely, as you can see in the pictures taken by Michael Klysner.
The second Jinling ship is part of the order placed in September 2016 and will be able to carry 6,700 lane metres of freight, equivalent to around 450 trailers. It is also designed to include scrubbers, a ballast water treatment system and a number of energy efficiency initiatives in order to comply with the environmental legislation that takes effect in January 2020.
It is fascinating to see the construction progress from bottom to top so keep sending us great pictures, Michael, and thank you for the ones we have already received.
