DFDS doubles logistics warehouse capacity in Belgium – Ghent

DFDS logistics in Ghent opens a new warehouse that doubles the warehousing capacity to 20,000 m2.

“We are very proud to announce this. It is the result of a continuous development that started in 2017 when we extended our internal cross-docking centre with a storage facility so we could offer our customers the temporary storage of goods like timber, paper and other goods they had requested.

As Volvo Trucks in the same year also requested temporary storage and cross-docking services, we moved into a bigger warehouse, which we have now further doubled in size by adding the pictured building (marked yellow) to it.

We hope and are confident that our customers will appreciate and benefit from the substantial capacity increase and our opportunities to further enhance services such as transshipments, counting, marking, quality controls, shunting operations, repacking, re-stowing, relabelling, securing and more.

Our warehouse is ideally located near the port and offers eight loading bays and 2 drive-in entrances. Kurt Jourquin, our workshop and warehouse manager, has put together a dedicated warehouse team that will spare no effort to organise tailor-made solutions and support our customers in any way needed and requested by our customers and partners,” says Geert Liefhooghe, MD of the logistics Division in Belgium.

Logistics’ warehouse in Ghent has been extended to double size. The new building is marked yellow.
