In order to make the most efficient use of our route network, location and suppliers, DFDS Terminals have decided to move the Equipment Centre from Gothenburg to Immingham. “Our North Sea route structure requires a large proportion of this equipment to pass through Immingham Terminal where much of the repair and maintenance work is also being carried out.
The Equipment Centre is responsible for assets such as the Trestles used to secure unaccompanied trailers on our ships, Mafi’s and Cassettes for RoRo transportation of Containers and industrial commodities such as steel, paper, timber and RDF, and a range of lashing equipment for the securing of all unit/cargo types. The team work closely with Route Management and the Terminals to ensure the correct distribution and availability of equipment types, and are responsible for the repair and maintenance of these important assets.
It will be managed by Nick Forsyth in his new role as Project and Equipment Manager. Nick will also maintain responsibility for the Group Terminals Projects and will continue to report into Alistair Campbell, Group Director Terminals.
The core team consists of three Equipment Coordinators:
Nina Yngve – Nina will remain based in the Gothenburg office.
Briar Isle-Robinson – Briar will remain based in the Immingham office.
Linus Nilsson – Linus is currently based in Gothenburg and under the new setup will transfer over to the Immingham office later this year.
The administration duties of the Equipment Centre will transfer over to the Terminal Administration department in Immingham, led by Sharon Dawson.
DFDS is currently recruiting for an exciting new position of Technical Project Manager – a role within the Terminals Projects team which will also have much involvement in the support of the Equipment Centre.
