The demand for a container service on the Kiel – St Petersburg route arose some time ago and now the service has been successfully put in place thanks to a strong cooperation between the Shipping and Logistics offices in the Baltics.
Anatoly Adrianov, General Director, says: “At the beginning of October, the first four DFDS-branded containers were brought from Rotterdam for use as line equipment on the Kiel – St Petersburg route. More will come and in total, 10 containers are planned to be in service during the test period. Customers will be able to use them for transportation of goods not only on Kiel – St Petersburg, but also on the other Baltic routes. We are confident that providing a ro-ro service with containers will strengthen DFDS’ position in Russia.”
