Robert Murdoch to retire – New team in place

Robert Murdoch to retire in June this year

Robert Murdoch has decided to retire and will leave DFDS in June this year. Robert has been with us since March 1999 and has made an outstanding contribution in building our business and serving our customers over these years. His commitment to the seafood sector has been tremendous and he will be missed by both colleagues and customers alike.

With a growing business and now 7 locations across Scotland, I will take a much more active role in the management of our Scottish businesses. My main focus will be to continue the development of DFDS Scotland with special attention on our customers.

Mick Devine new general manager

As you know, Mick Devine has been running the day to day operations in Larkhall for some time, and I am pleased to announce that he will be appointed General Manager with responsibility for Larkhall, Bellshill and Aberdeen.

In January we appointed Simon Woldu into the role of Finance Director to strengthen the management team alongside Mark Kelly, David Cranston and Pat Clinton who all have many years’ experience and knowledge of the seafood industry and will continue to provide the levels of service our customers expect.

Mark Kelly and David Cranston have each taken on additional responsibilities within the business and will continue to be the interface with our customers.

Robert plans to head back with the family to live on Uist. When the time comes, I am certain you will all join me in wishing Robert a long and happy retirement.
