BU Med looks into the eyes of our Turkish colleagues

On 13 February, our colleagues in Turkey had a real eye-opening day, as BU Med cooperated with one of the best hospital groups in Istanbul who visited BU Med HQ to carry out free eye and eyesight tests for our Turkish colleagues. The examination included many tests such as measuring eye pressure, visual impairment and acuity.

The response to the examination was great, with a total of 60 colleagues being examined and taking medical advice from the opticians such as wearing glasses instead of contact lenses in order to reduce eye pressure and changing focal points every 20 minutes to reduce the risk of dry eyes. Some even made appointments for a complete check-up in hospitals party to the scheme.

Plans have already been arranged to repeat the examination, not only at HQ, but also in our ports and agencies and on an annual basis.
