Last week the Freight Commercial Sales Teams from both the Eastern and Western Channel held a very successful Strategy Conference over two days in Ashford.
The meeting was arranged by Wayne Bullen, Freight Sales Director BU Channel, and provided the perfect opportunity for Sales Managers from the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany and Portugal to meet face to face and discuss the year to date performance and indeed the strategy going forward into 2019.
Wayne Bullen presented an overview and feedback from the recent management conference which was well received by all. Additionally, many exciting new digital developments were discussed including a demonstration of the new “Quay 2 Quay” online sales platform, which is scheduled to go live on 1 November and will greatly enhance the service we offer our freight customers.
Wayne Bullen says: “This was a perfect forum to share ideas, discuss best practice, and expand on the challenges within each territory. Detailed presentations were provided by Mark Hazard, Financial Planning & Analysis Manager, Pascal Grand, Commercial Manager and Hubert Saussereau, Business Analyst.”
“The future strategy, goals and objectives for the coming year were discussed, with all concerned fully participating in the constructive discussions and eager to face the challenges ahead.”
An opportunity was also taken to say farewell and thank you to Phil Garrett, UK Freight Sales Manager, who will be retiring at the end of November. Wayne thanked Phil for his loyalty and dedicated work over the last 14 years with DFDS, presented Phil with various gifts from the team and wished him every happiness for the future.
